Job summary

Apptronik is seeking a Senior Embedded BSP Engineer to own the BSP and OS configuration for the NVIDIA Jetson Thor compute platform in its humanoid robots. You will collaborate with firmware, hardware, and robot software teams to bring up custom carrier boards and deliver reproducible, secure OS images.

You will tune the platform for low-latency real-time performance, support hardware bring-up from prototype to production, and help own platform quality as fleets scale to hundreds or thousands of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years building, debugging, and shipping embedded systems on Linux and/or QNX.
• Hands-on NVIDIA Jetson (Thor/Orin) and JetPack experience including carrier board customization.
• Strong OS-level skills: Linux kernel config, device tree, drivers, and kernel upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain BSP for NVIDIA Jetson Thor modules and custom carrier boards.
• Build and maintain OS images with CI-driven builds (Yocto/JetPack/Ubuntu or QNX SDP).
• Tune OS for real-time, low-latency with PREEMPT_RT, CPU isolation, and IRQ affinity.
• Own OS lifecycle tooling: JetPack/NVIDIA BSP upgrades, A/B OTA updates, secure boot.
• Triage boot issues, kernel panics, driver regressions, and thermal throttling; document root causes.
• Define hardware requirements and review schematics with hardware team.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Robot Software, QA, Validation, and Manufacturing to scale compute hardware.
