Job summary
Ford is seeking an embedded software developer to join the High Voltage Battery Controls team. You will implement and validate Battery Monitoring System software for Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid, and Battery Electric vehicles.
Responsibilities include modeling in MATLAB/Simulink, C programming, MIL/SIL validation, and cross-team collaboration to define controls requirements. The role emphasizes design documentation, toolchain support, and field data analysis to improve BMS performance.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow development.
- 5+ years of Control System software design experience.
- 5+ years of C and/or C++ experience.
Responsibilities
- Implement requirements using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow and C programming.
- Validate model-based designs using desktop simulation packages (MIL & SIL).
- Interact with other teams to develop controls requirements.
- Develop and maintain design documentation.
- Support tools development, compiler setup, static analysis, and software configuration management.
- Analyze field data to solve issues related to model/C code implementation.
