Job summary

Gentis Solutions in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to support embedded processor platforms and their customers. This role blends embedded Linux engineering, hardware/software debugging, and direct customer-facing technical support.

This position involves working across Linux, Android, and FreeRTOS environments, troubleshooting field issues, aiding board-level design and verification, and helping customers integrate embedded processor technologies into their products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant applications engineering experience, or Master's with 8+ years.
• Advanced Linux experience within embedded systems.
• Strong experience with ARM-based embedded processors.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, Android, and FreeRTOS.
• Understanding embedded hardware/software interaction.
• Customer-facing technical support or applications engineering experience.
• Experience with embedded interfaces such as USB, HDMI, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, CAN, SPI, UART.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support embedded processor platforms and peripherals.
• Build, modify, and support BSP images and drivers for Linux, Android, FreeRTOS.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and guide customers to resolution.
• Perform hands-on hardware debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG.
• Review schematics, specs, test results, and requirements.
• Support design verification activities and ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Work with USB, HDMI, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, CAN, SPI, UART interfaces.
• Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain customer-facing technical documentation and training.
