Job summary

John Deere is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer in Fargo, ND, to lead the mechanical and electro-mechanical architecture of electric machines. You will drive thermal management, materials selection, and system integration while aligning with manufacturing and supplier capabilities.

The role requires extensive experience in design reviews, DFMEA, and multiphysics analysis, guiding cross-functional decision-making and ensuring durable, serviceable solutions for industrial electrification products.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree is a plus or demonstrated depth of expertise.
• Requires 10+ years in electro-mechanical/device design across lifecycle stages.

Responsibilities

• Lead electric machine mechanical and electro-mechanical architecture, interfaces, reviews, verification, and issue resolution.
• Provide expertise in thermal management, castings, cooling, GD&T, FEA, and system integration.
• Define and maintain the eMachine technology roadmap and development funnel; evaluate motor architectures and materials.
• Lead design-for-manufacturing, production-readiness, process capability, and supplier collaboration activities.
