Job summary

John Deere in Fargo, North Dakota, is seeking a Senior PE Control System Engineer to develop advanced electric drive controls for a broad range of applications in the vehicle electrification space.

You will validate software through HIL, dyno testing, and field integration, mentor other engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to define control system requirements that meet performance goals. Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 4 or more years of experience in advanced power electronics and/or control algorithm development.
• Demonstrated experience with simulation tools for power electronics or electric drives.
• 3 or more years of hands-on power electronics and/or drivetrain testing (HIL, lab, field).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills (English).
• Academic research experience will be equally considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced electric drive controls solutions at component and system levels.
• Validate and deliver controls software via code development, HIL validation, dyno testing, and field integration support.
• Conduct advanced eDrive and vehicle system simulation to support features development and vehicle performance assessment.
• Interface with stakeholders to develop control system requirements for electrification solutions.
• Mentor other control and software developers in design, modeling, coding, and testing practices.
