Job summary

Washington County in Minnesota is seeking a Senior Eligibility Specialist on the METS team to initially process Families Medicaid in the Maxis system. The role requires at least 2 years of experience as an Eligibility Specialist, with METS knowledge desirable.

The position involves training staff, handling appeals, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting day-to-day operations, with opportunities to contribute to program improvements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and two years as an Eligibility Specialist.
• Completion of Public Welfare Financial Worker or Human Services program may substitute one year.
• Experience managing multiple public assistance computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide on the job training for new and experienced Eligibility Specialists.
• Prepare cases for appeals, attend hearings and document related actions.
• Assist with day-to-day staff questions and peer reviews for quality.
• Develop reference materials to supplement policy and procedures.
• Assume admin/operational functions in major program areas.
• Represent the agency in legal settings, workgroups and committees.
• Conduct general orientation sessions for department employees.
• Complete or coordinate case management reports to improve data accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
