Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC seeks an Engineering Technician V (Elevator Systems) to provide full-time, shipboard engineering support for U.S. Navy elevators at SWRMC in San Diego, CA.

You will troubleshoot, assess, and repair shipboard equipment, train Ship's Force, and support qualification efforts to ensure readiness. The role requires a SECRET clearance, seven+ years of relevant experience, and a strong background in elevator subsystems and testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 7+ years hands-on Navy auxiliary equipment experience within last 10 years.
• Experience with shipboard elevator subsystems (cargo/weapons elevators, hydraulic units, hoists).
• Ability to draft Ship Visit Reports and report in TAAS/TAAS formats; train Ship's Force.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time onsite support and surge support for Code 253 equipment.
• Serve as senior SME and lead for assessment and Fleet Technical Assistance teams.
• Conduct pre-job briefings and report equipment readiness status.
• Perform assessments and inspections of equipment and witness operations on ships.
• Provide on-the-job training to Ship's Force technicians on system operation and maintenance.
• Support DFS/ESR research and resolution and develop risk assessments.
• Assist with monthly reporting of qualification progress.
