Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Burbank, CA seeks a Sr. Research Technician (Temp/Contract) to assemble, wire, and test electronics equipment used in engineering development and production acceptance testing. You will work with Test Engineers, read drawings, and build/verify ATE systems to support landing and cabin programs.

The role emphasizes 6+ months with potential conversion, requiring aerospace quality assembly experience, good documentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Aerospace Quality Electronics Assembly experience.
• Read assembly drawings, schematics, and wire lists.
• Familiar with MIL/DO standards for assembly and soldering.
• Interest in developing Test Systems for acceptance testing.
• Cable and harness fabrication knowledge (IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred).
• Two-year degree in Electronics or 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and with Test Engineers.
• Review drawings and schematics; participate in peer reviews.
• Develop dry-run test procedures for Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
• Fabricate and maintain cables, harnesses, PCBs, and ATEs.
• Redline drawings for fabrication discrepancies.
• Build, inspect, diagnose, and maintain ATE connections.
• Support fabrication 70% and testing 30% of equipment.
