Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a leading provider of advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems, seeks a Senior Electronics Test Engineer to participate in testing of digital hardware for the StreamCaster MANET product line. This 100% onsite role reports to the Team Lead, Electronics Design, within Hardware Engineering.

The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 4+ years of hardware test experience, and hands-on use of lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant hardware test experience.
• Hands-on experience using test equipment such as bench top power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, thermal chambers.
• Experience with digital interfaces such as RS-232, USB 2.0, 1000BASE-T Ethernet or similar
• Experience validating power supply sequencing, efficiency, and ripple for DC/DC converters, LDOs and PMICs or similar power circuitry
• Must be a U.S. Person (permanent resident or citizen) due to U.S. government contracts.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Use electronics test equipment to evaluate system performance, evaluate compliance compatibility and troubleshoot operation issues.
• Carry out hardware test execution and generate status and test reports.
• Define verification matrix and internal specifications of performance.
• Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
• Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
• Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
• Design test fixtures and calibrate test equipment.
• Understand proper use and handling of sensitive circuits and equipment.
• Travel Requirement - Rare local travel, as required by Silvus (i.e. Irvine office).
• Perform other related duties, of which the above are representative.
