Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician in Springfield, VA to design, fabricate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain custom electronic systems for laboratory and operational environments. The role partners with engineers and government stakeholders to advance hardware solutions across the full development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Advanced electronics and RF systems design experience.
• PCB design experience with Altium or equivalent CAD tooling.
• Firmware development for embedded controllers and hardware.
• Proficiency with precision soldering and PCB rework.
• Experience with RF test equipment and lab instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, assemble, test, and troubleshoot RF/electronic systems for lab and operational use.
• Design RF antennas for specialized bands and requirements.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Program and debug embedded microcontrollers (C/C++, Arduino, STM32, ESP32).
• Solder SMT/through-hole assemblies per IPC standards; test and validate repairs.
