Amentum is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician in Springfield, VA to design, fabricate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain custom electronic systems for lab and field use. You will work with engineers and government stakeholders across the hardware lifecycle, delivering innovative hardware solutions and robust test results.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility (Citizenship required).
• 4+ years in electronics/RF systems support.
• Experience designing RF antennas and matching networks.
• PCB design with Altium Designer or equivalent CAD software.
• Firmware development for embedded control systems.
• Precision SMT soldering and PCB rework to IPC standards.
• Experience with RF/electronic lab equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzers, scopes).
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, assemble, test, and troubleshoot RF and electronic systems.
• Design RF antennas for specialized bands and requirements.
• Create schematics and multilayer PCBs with Altium Designer.
• Program and debug embedded microcontrollers (C/C++, Arduino, STM32, ESP32).
• Perform precision SMT soldering and component-level repairs.
• Fabricate and test prototype electronics and RF circuits.
• Tune and optimize RF antennas, filters, transceivers with lab tools.
• Troubleshoot circuits to component level and replace faulty parts.
• Develop RF subsystems, transceivers, embedded sensors, power circuits.
• Support hardware development life cycle from prototype to deployment.
