Job summary

Qnity Electronics in Marlborough, MA seeks a Senior Applications & Product Development Scientist to lead development, characterization, scale-up, and commercialization of advanced electronic materials for semiconductor manufacturing. This hands-on technical leader bridges R&D, manufacturing, quality, and customer applications to deliver new products and improve yields.

The role is 100% onsite in Marlborough, with priority given to candidates within a commutable distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, polymer science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of industrial experience in semiconductor materials, electronic materials, lithography, advanced packaging, metallization, dielectric materials, photoresists, or related technologies.
• Experience in materials formulation, process development, applications engineering, and product commercialization.
• Hands-on experience in semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, applications labs, or manufacturing environments.
• Proven success leading product scale-up, manufacturing transfers, customer qualifications, process optimization, troubleshooting, and yield improvement.
• Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving, root-cause analysis, CAPA processes, stats, and DOE.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and commercialization of advanced electronic materials, including formulation, characterization, application testing, scale-up, manufacturing transfer, and customer qualification.
• Establish structure-property-process-performance relationships to improve material performance, product robustness, and manufacturing consistency.
• Design and execute laboratory, cleanroom, and customer-site evaluations utilizing DOE methodologies.
• Collaborate with R&D, Applications Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to successfully launch new products.
• Develop best-known methods, technical recommendations, process windows, and test protocols that meet customer and business requirements.
• Lead complex root-cause investigations involving product performance, manufacturing processes, customer applications, and quality issues.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) across cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Support installation, qualification, optimization, and troubleshooting of semiconductor material processes at customer, foundry, OEM, and equipment supplier sites.
• Prepare and present technical reports, customer presentations, development updates, and commercialization documentation.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
