Job summary

Rivian Automotive is seeking a Sr. Electronics Lab Technician to perform functional acceptance testing of circuit board assemblies and power electronic units.

Based at our Torrance and Carson facilities, you will fabricate test boxes and harnesses, design fixtures, and run tests following defined procedures on high-voltage automotive components. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting and rapid problem solving in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience fabricating test equipment for high/low voltage power electronics.
• 5+ years soldering, handling lab equipment and board rework.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use datasheets.
• Experience building electrical test boxes and harnesses from schematics.
• Strong fabrication and prototype shop skills; hands-on approach.
• Comfort reading schematics and using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate test equipment, boxes, and harnesses.
• Design simple mechanical fixtures and jigs.
• Perform functional acceptance testing of PCBs and power electronics per procedures.
• Support development and validation testing of high-voltage automotive components.
• Troubleshoot and document electronic assembly issues.
• Solder/desolder components and modify PCBs as needed.
• Read schematics and use datasheets.
• Procure tools and parts for prototypes.
• Set up test equipment like oscilloscopes and DMMs.
• Maintain safe working practices.
