Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Sr. Electronics Lab Technician to perform functional acceptance testing of circuit board assemblies and power electronic units at on-site Rivian facilities in Torrance and Carson, CA.

The role involves fabricating test equipment, assisting development, and supporting high-voltage automotive electronics validation. The candidate will work with a Lab Operations Manager and collaborate with engineering teams in a fast-paced development environment, requiring hands-on fabrication

Qualifications

• Technical degree in electronics preferred.
• 5+ years of experience fabricating special test equipment for low/high voltage power electronics.
• 5+ years of experience with soldering, handling lab equipment & board re-work.
• Read electrical schematics and use manufacturers’ product data sheets.
• Build electrical test boxes and harnesses from schematics.
• Hands-on approach with strong fabrication shop processes.
• Proficient in reading schematics and using data sheets.
• Experience working with prototype development.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate special test equipment, electronic test boxes, and harnesses.
• Design and fabricate simple mechanical fixtures and jigs.
• Functional acceptance testing of circuit board assemblies and power electronic units following defined test procedures.
• Support development and validation testing of high-voltage automotive power electronic components.
• Troubleshoot and document electronic assembly issues.
• Solder/desolder components at a device level.
• Read electrical schematics and use data sheets.
• Procure tools, equipment, and components for prototype builds.
• Set up standard test equipment like oscilloscopes and power supplies.
