Job summary

Ghost Robotics is seeking a Senior Engineer, Electronics to own the electrical architecture of critical subsystems on the Q-UGV platform as we scale for defense, homeland, public safety, and enterprise customers worldwide.

You will set design direction, trade off power, thermal, cost, and manufacturability, carry PCBs from concept through field deployment, and report to the Head of Electronics and Firmware.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on PCB schematic and layout design experience.
• Prototype PCB bring-up and debug with contract manufacturers.
• High-speed digital layout experience with Ethernet/USB/PCIe.
• Power electronics design for battery-powered systems.
• Altium Designer expertise.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical design of subsystems on the Q-UGV platform, including motor control, sensing, high-speed communications, and battery management.
• Integrate payload sensors (RGB, thermal/IR, TOF, gas, audio) into production-ready electronics.
• Drive schematic/layout from prototype to volume production with contract manufacturers.
• Design and review power architectures for battery-powered systems.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers; enforce quality and revision-control discipline.
• Debug hardware to isolate root causes across electrical, firmware, and mechanical domains.
• Collaborate on architecture decisions, technology selection, and long-range electronics roadmap.
