Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking an Electronics Engineer for our Bethesda, MD location. The role involves electrical system design, PCB design, and simulation, with emphasis on diagnostics and hardware testing.

You will develop software and firmware to support hardware communication (MATLAB, Python, C, C++), perform data acquisition and signal analysis, and maintain thorough system documentation. Travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline from an ABET Accredited Institution.
• 6+ years of professional experience in electronics design, testing, or hardware maintenance.
• Experience with data acquisition (DAQ) hardware and signal processing/analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including PCB design and simulation (Altium, Eagle, LTSpice) and perform diagnostic testing.
• Develop software/firmware to support hardware communication and testing (MATLAB, Python, C, C++).
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance, inspection, and hardware rework on various electronic components and assemblies.
• Generate, update and maintain system documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs.
• Prepare and execute component test plans; perform data acquisition, processing, and signal analysis to evaluate hardware performance.
• Conduct benchtop diagnostic testing, signal analysis, and root-cause analysis on mixed-signal hardware using lab instruments.
