Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our San Diego, CA team.

The role focuses on complex circuit board design and layout using Mentor Graphics PADS, with strong emphasis on R&D and lifecycle support for productized designs. The candidate will work with ECAD, software, mechanical, and manufacturing groups, reading datasheets, and conducting design trade studies.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s, Masters, or PhD in Engineering or a related technical discipline and progressive engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering concepts and their application through an evolving design process.
• Ability to organize, schedule, and complete projects on time and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute concepts, strategies, and plans with supervision.
• Collaborate with ECAD, software, mechanical, and manufacturing groups.
• Contribute to designs across high-speed digital, analog, and high power systems.
• Read datasheets, perform design trade studies, develop design requirements and verification methods.
• Understand test methods and ensure quality builds; familiarity with DFx is a plus.
• Validate conformity to design standards using test equipment and analysis.
