Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and simulate printed circuit boards, develop firmware, and perform hardware verification. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET Accredited Institution.
• 6+ years of professional experience in electronics design, testing, or hardware maintenance.
• Experience with data acquisition (DAQ) hardware and signal processing/analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical system design to include printed circuit board design and simulation (ex Altium, Eagle, LTSpice) and conduct diagnostic testing in support of troubleshooting efforts.
• Develop software and/or firmware to support hardware communication and testing (Matlab, Python, C, C++).
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance, inspection, and hardware rework on various electronic components and assemblies.
• Generate, update and maintain comprehensive system documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Prepare and execute component test plans. Perform data acquisition, processing, and signal analysis to evaluate hardware performance.
• Conduct benchtop diagnostic testing, signal analysis, and root-cause analysis and troubleshooting on mixed-signal hardware using standard lab instrumentation.
