Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Edwards, CA is seeking an Instrumentation Operations Engineer to integrate requirements and program new data acquisition equipment for flight tests. You will oversee installation, checkout, and calibration of data systems and maintain configurations for mission readiness.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and strong troubleshooting skills with test equipment, plus the ability to work independently or in teams across multiple organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to develop, test, and troubleshoot data acquisition systems and other instrumentation devices.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and process specifications.
• Proficient in troubleshooting techniques and tools, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and other common laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees installation, checkout, and calibration of data systems to ensure data is properly displayed and analyzed.
• Maintains configuration control and mission capability of instrumentation systems and ground support equipment.
• Supports preflight, post-flight, and control room activities for all missions.
• Interfaces with test ops, maintenance, and management to coordinate instrumentation requirements.
