Job summary

Jobless is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to own the design, manufacturing, and integration of electronics powering our ground support equipment for air defense platforms in Gardena, CA. You will collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver advanced electronic systems and drive architecture decisions.

The role requires 5+ years in aerospace/defense electronics, strong Altium/PCB skills, and experience with high‑speed digital, RF, and power electronics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
• Experience with Altium Designer or similar CAD systems and high‑speed digital electronics.
• 5+ years designing, building, and testing electronics for aerospace/defense/robotics/automotive systems.
• Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and board‑level signal/power integrity.
• Familiarity with environmental constraints including thermal, EMI/EMC, shock and vibration.

Responsibilities

• Own design and manufacturing processes for custom harnesses for vehicle platforms.
• Support embedded vehicle systems including power, compute, sensing, actuation, and communication subsystems.
• Lead board‑level bring‑up, debugging, and validation in lab and field tests.

Role Overview

As an electrical engineer you will own the design, manufacturing, and integration of the electronics that power our next-generation ground support equipment for air defense platforms. You will have an opportunity for significant system ownership and to be a key contributor to design and architecture.

You’ll work closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver the best in-class electronic systems. If you want to build complex hardware on systems that matter—this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and manufacturing processes for custom harnesses for vehicle platforms.
• Support design of embedded vehicle systems including power, compute, sensing, actuation, and communication subsystems
• Act as the primary point of contact for any manufacturing issues on electrical assemblies
• Determine layer stackup, perform component package selection, component placement, routing feasibility studies, and signal routing of digital, analog, RF, and power conversion of printed circuit boards (PCB)
• Create and release documentation for fabrication of PCBs
• Own schematic design, component selection, PCB layout, and design review
• Manage board-level bring-up, debugging, and validation in lab and field test environments
• Guide board-level manufacturing, testing, and assembly processes (both in-house and external vendors)
• Establish test procedures for validation, environmental, and EMC/ESD qualification

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Strong experience with Altium Designer or similar CAD system (KICAD, EAGLE, CADENCE)
• Experienced with High-speed digital electronics, embedded microcontrollers, RF components, power electronics, digital buses (CAN, SPI, UART, I2C), sensor integration
• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and testing electronics for aerospace, defense, robotics, or automotive systems
• Proficiency in schematic capture, layout (Altium), and board-level signal and power integrity design
• Familiarity with environmental design constraints including thermal, EMI/EMC, shock, and vibration

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in avionics or high-reliability hardware systems
• Proven experience delivering complex, multi-board avionics or embedded systems from concept to production
• Familiarity with Military standards for system design and qualification
• Experience in design-for-manufacture and supply chain planning for high-mix, low-volume aerospace production
• Experience with rapid prototyping, in-house assembly, and validation test campaign.
• Prior work in systems where the hardware must survive extreme environments (missiles, launch vehicles, hypersonic systems, satellites)
