Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies in Palo Alto, CA, seeks a senior Electronics Test and Validation Engineer to drive ECU verification and hardware characterization for InfoConn ECUs.

You will review schematics early with the EE team, develop test plans, execute bench tests, and build automation using Python. Knowledge of RF, power integrity, signal integrity and AI-assisted analysis is valuable for this role.

Qualifications

• BS/MS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of electronics design, characterization and validation testing.
• Experience with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, VNA, BERT, probes, DAQ, SMU, etc.).
• Hands-on with spectrum analyzers, vector analyzers/generators or wireless testers.
• Strong EE fundamentals: power, signal integrity, RF concepts.
• Experience with Python scripting for test automation.
• Experience using AI tools to assist testing and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design verification and characterization test plans for ECU programs.
• Execute characterization tests according to project milestones.
• Own test coverage reports and analysis.
• Characterize multi-rail power sequencing and PMIC behavior at IC/PCBA levels.
• Characterize high-speed interfaces (camera/display serdes, USB, PCIe, Automotive Ethernet).
• Characterize RF performance of integrated radios (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, LTE/5G, GNSS).
• Provide early feedback to design engineers on testability and instrumentation needs.
• Write automation scripts in Python for characterization tasks and data processing.
