Job summary

Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) in Austin, TX, seeks a Staff Engineer, Electronics Architect to lead the system-level electronics architecture across all dispensers and connected hardware platforms. You’ll own end-to-end diagrams, interface definitions, and documentation, harmonizing hardware with firmware and software teams.

You will partner with product management to address regional requirements, drive technology adoption, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across global product lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in electronics engineering, embedded systems, or hardware architecture.
• Experience developing architecture diagrams, interface definitions, and system-level documentation.
• Strong understanding of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, USB, and wireless communications.
• Ability to collaborate with Firmware and Software teams on system-level behaviors and architecture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end electronics architecture across all product platforms (dispensers, controllers, pedestals, chargers, edge devices, switches).
• Develop architecture diagrams, interface maps, compatibility matrices, and system-level documentation.
• Lead cross-functional alignment between Electronics, Firmware, and Software Architects.
• Evaluate system limitations and propose architectural improvements.
• Collaborate with Product Management to align with roadmaps and regional needs.
• Introduce new electronics technologies to enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with Firmware and Software teams to define system behaviors and interfaces.
• Mentor teams and lead system design reviews; ensure safety, regulatory, EMC, and PCI compliance.
