Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. in Lockport, LA is seeking a 1st Class Electronic Technician to lay out, build, test, install, troubleshoot, repair and modify electrical and electronic components and systems on shipboard equipment.

Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience, be able to read drawings and schematics, and demonstrate thorough knowledge of faults, testing and repair, including Fire & Smoke Detection Systems; the role includes mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electronic Technician.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics and other electrical/electronic technical documentation.
• Familiarity with applicable commercial and Government specifications and codes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of component/system start up, testing, troubleshooting and repair.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and components, including Fire & Smoke Detection Systems.
