Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. in Lockport, LA is seeking a skilled 1st Class Electronic Technician to lay out, build, test, install, troubleshoot and modify electronic systems aboard vessels.

The role requires hands-on expertise with electrical/electronic components and the ability to work from complex drawings and specifications. You will guide junior technicians, perform start-up and life-cycle tests, document results, and ensure compliance with commercial and government standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electronic Technician.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, schematics and other electrical/electronic documentation.
• Must be familiar with applicable commercial and Government specifications and codes.
• Must have comprehensive knowledge at component/system start up, testing, troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

• Able to provide guidance, training and direction to subordinate technicians.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and components, to include associated command and Fire & Smoke Detection Systems.
