Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. is seeking an Electronic Technician with at least 5 years of hands-on experience to lay out, build, test, install, troubleshoot, repair and modify electrical and electronic components and systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of electronic technician experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Familiar with commercial and Government specifications and codes.

Responsibilities

• Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with Electrical Engineer
• Develops sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units
• Assembles circuitry, performs terminations or conducts testing according to engineering instructions, manuals and knowledge of electronic systems and components
• Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance
• Sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment to conduct functional, environmental, and life cycle tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models
• Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance
• Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe operating characteristics and malfunctions
• Checks functioning of newly installed equipment in vessels and structures to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions
