Job summary

Battelle seeks an Electronics and Electrical System Design Engineer in Columbus, OH. The role designs advanced electronic and electromechanical systems for government and industry clients, with onsite work required for 6–9 months and potential for hybrid schedules later based on contracts.

The candidate will contribute to proposals, client relationships, IR&D studies, and business development support, with opportunities to lead technical teams and document designs.

Qualifications

• BS EE or BS CE from ABET-accredited ECE program with minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience (research, internship, and co-op counts) OR BS in related field with 8 years OR MS in related field with 5 years OR PhD in related field with 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, research, and understand design requirements; generate block diagrams and concept designs.
• Create circuit board schematics, review PCB layouts, and generate wiring documentation.
• Generate and debug firmware for microprocessors in embedded systems.
• Perform calculations and simulations to predict system performance.
• Lead team efforts toward schedule and budget, ensuring quality results.
