Job summary

Battelle is seeking an Electronics and Electrical System Design Engineer to design complex electronic and electromechanical systems for government and industry clients. The role is based in Columbus, OH, with onsite work required for the first 6–9 months and potential for a hybrid schedule later depending on contracts.

Qualifications

• BS EE or BS CE from ABET-accredited program with 5+ years experience (research/internship/co‑op counts)
• Alternative: BA/BS in related field with 8 years, MS with 5 years, or PhD with 2 years
• Strong analytical problem solving and willingness to learn on the job
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, US Citizenship required for TS/SCI eligibility

Responsibilities

• Interpret requirements and generate block diagrams and concept designs.
• Create circuit board schematics, review PCB layouts and generate documentation.
• Generate and debug firmware for MCUs in embedded systems.
• Perform calculations and simulations to predict performance.
• Lead team efforts and ensure quality within schedule and budget.
