Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico seeks an Electromechanical Technologist to support Mechanical Shock, Drop Tower, Water Impact, and related facilities. You will build test assemblies, assist electrical sub-assemblies, and help prototype design while procuring materials for testing operations.

The role requires adapting to dynamic, national-security projects with field testing and documentation. On-site work is required, with opportunities for travel and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus three years or more experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with electrical or mechanical systems at activity level.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical test assemblies for testing.
• Support the construction of electrical sub-assemblies for testing.
• Support prototype design and builds.
• Procure materials and equipment for testing operations.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and certify equipment for hazardous testing.
• Prepare pre-test and post-test documentation.
• Manage interactions with FMOC for facility inspections.
• Occasional travel to off-site testing locations.
