Job summary

TE Connectivity plc is seeking a Staff Electromechanical R&D/Product Development Engineer to lead high-current connector programs from concept to release. You will drive design, validation, and qualification across global teams, mentoring engineers along the way.

The role emphasizes collaboration with customers, manufacturing, and suppliers, translating requirements into robust engineering solutions and using DFMEA and tolerance analysis to guide decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing and releasing complex electromechanical products through a structured process.
• Strong capability in high-current connector design, 3D CAD, GD&T, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-current power connector and platform development from feasibility through production release.
• Translate customer needs into clear engineering requirements for projects.
• Develop concepts balancing electrical, thermal, mechanical, reliability, manufacturability, cost and safety.
• Drive design reviews, DFMEAs, tolerance analysis, verification planning and data-driven decisions.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for design, qualification, manufacturing and customer issues.
• Build reusable platforms, design methods and standards across product families.
• Collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, laboratories, and customers; mentor teammates.
