Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Electromechanical Engineer to join our team in Linthicum MD, Fairfax VA, or Morrisville NC. The role focuses on hardware design, integration, and verification for complex systems utilizing power, RF, and fiber optics.

You will collaborate on system-level architectures, review drawings, support moves, and travel to field deployments as needed; experience with documentation and validation plans is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field; 12+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s with 10+ years OR PhD with 8+ years.
• Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Experience with hardware design and integration processes.
• Understanding the impacts of requirement changes on hardware design.
• Familiarity with power, RF, and fiber electrical signals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design and integration of hardware systems ensuring adherence to changing requirements and specifications.
• Create/Review/Update drawings, support equipment moves, rack and stack of equipment and integration of computer equipment into a shelter for deployment.
• Travel to support installation and configuration events as needed.
• Participate in system-level testing and verification processes to ensure hardware meets all requirements and standards.
• Troubleshoot and modify existing hardware designs to enhance performance and reliability.
• Document design alterations, prepare status reports, and develop validation plans with clear technical writing.
• Engage with cross-functional teams proactively in meetings and maintain professional stakeholder interactions.
