Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer (T3) to join the Intelligence Systems Business Unit. You will design, develop, fabricate, integrate, and test space-qualified RF and EO sensor hardware with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes reducing risk, applying GD&T, and contributing to full lifecycle mechanical solutions for antenna panels and related assemblies in a space environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of experience or Master’s degree with 3 years.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• No clearance required to start, but ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Proficient with 3D CAD tools AutoCAD, Creo, or Siemens NX.
• Experience with antenna panel and supporting electronics assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design activities for antenna and sensor subassemblies using 3D CAD tools.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks; support troubleshooting during integration and testing.
• Perform mechanical analyses, tolerance stack-ups, and prepare engineering drawings for space hardware.
• Contribute to documentation and technical reports to comply with aerospace requirements.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and manufacturing engineering to meet objectives.
