Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Six years of full-performance electrical experience.
• Valid electrician's license required; must be maintained.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of NEC and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics.
• Must perform physically demanding tasks.
• Commitment to a diverse academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Ensure all work performed meets required safety codes.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment.
• Detect and repair defects in electrical systems and equipment, including high voltage.
• Receive and review requests for electrical work from supervisor.
• Prepare cost, time and material estimates for jobs as required.
• Prepare requisitions for parts and supplies; maintain inventory.
• Prepare activity reports detailing activities and supplies used.
• Provide training and consultation to electricians and helpers.
• Interpret technical sketches, blueprints and schematics.
• Remain current on methods, practices, materials, tools and equipment.
• Maintain current electrician’s license or ID as required.
• Demonstrate expertise in electricity principles and theory.
• Adhere to safety precautions and regulations.
