Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform high‑voltage testing and commissioning for critical power systems. This role requires extensive travel (up to 75%) and will support regional/national projects throughout the U.S.

You will mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on cross‑discipline teams. The ideal candidate holds a current NETA III/IV certification, 7+ years of hands-on HV testing, and strong knowledge of MTS/ATS standards.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards and protective-relay schemes.
• Proficient with high-voltage test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical to microprocessor-based).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers, switchgear, cables, breakers.
• Interpret results and write engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex failures under time-critical conditions; mentor junior techs.
• Lead multi-discipline project teams as technical lead; ensure safety compliance.
