Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Test Technician to independently handle small to mid-sized projects or contribute to larger efforts. The role requires leading testing programs, troubleshooting complex systems, and mentoring junior staff.

You will support SCADA, life-safety, and building control systems, perform protection-relay testing and arc flash studies, and ensure compliance with NETA/NECA safety standards across industrial and data-center environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical testing experience.
• Valid US work authorization.
• NETA/NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA standards.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with protective relays, breakers, transformers and switchgear.
• HV testing up to 500kV with arc flash analysis experience.
• Willingness to travel; operate in industrial, data center and utility settings.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical testing program for duty sites and serve as SME for operations.
• Lead or train staff to monitor and control systems and update controls.
• Assist SOP development and operator training for complex MEP systems.
• Execute CMMS scheduling for maintenance, repairs and warranty activities.
• Manage integration of SCADA, Delta Controls and life-safety systems.
• Coordinate with Program Manager to optimize monitoring performance.
• Provide oversight; troubleshoot operational problems on site.
• Perform protective relay testing, calibrations and programming.
• Conduct circuit breaker and switchgear testing including timing tests.
• Generate safety reports and maintain related safety records.
• Mentor junior technicians and support commissioning/startup.
