Job summary

Performance Drone Works (PDW) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design manufacturing test systems for PCBs and wiring harnesses, supporting high-volume production of advanced UAV systems. You'll own test fixtures from concept through deployment, collaborate with hardware and manufacturing engineering, and drive reliability across contract manufacturers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of hands-on test-system experience, including bed-of-nails,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field; 5+ years designing electrical test systems for production/contract manufacturing.
• Experience with electronic test hardware design, including embedded systems.
• Experience developing, releasing and implementing electronic test solutions and processes (bed-of nails, flying probe, ICT).
• Experience with microcontrollers and bootstrapping (SWD/JTAG).
• Knowledge of I2C, USB, CAN, Serial, SPI and their debugging/test procedures.
• Strong CAD skills for schematic capture and PCBA layout (Altium, CircuitStudio, Cadence).
• Experience with MES/PLM systems and integrating test fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deploy electrical test systems for PCAs and wiring harnesses.
• Own lifecycle of test fixtures from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Develop test specifications, criteria, plans, and fixtures for design verification and production testing.
• Support PCBA testing and qualification with contract manufacturers.
• Analyze production data to drive yield improvements and improve test system reliability.
• Lead continuous improvement of test systems for throughput and OEE.
