Performance Drone Works (PDW) in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for Manufacturing Test Systems to design, validate, and deploy high-volume test fixtures for PCBAs and subsystems. You will lead hardware and software integration with contract manufacturers, ensuring robust yield and reliability in production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years designing production test systems.
• Experience with bed-of-nails, flying probe, and in-circuit test.
• Familiar with microcontrollers and bootstrapping processes (e.g., SWD/JTAG USB).
• Knowledge of I2C, USB, CAN, Serial, and SPI buses and debugging procedures.
• Strong electrical CAD skills for schematic capture and PCBA layout.
• Experience with MES/PLM integration into electronics manufacturing test fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deploy electrical test systems for PCBAs, wiring harnesses, and subsystems in production and CM environments.
• Own the full lifecycle of test fixtures from design to deployment and continuous improvement.
• Develop manufacturing test specifications, testing criteria, plans, and fixtures for design verification and validation.
• Perform hardware design tasks including architecture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, and coordination with CM manufacturers.
• Support PCBA test fixtures maintenance, qualification, and repair across production partners.
• Lead improvements to test systems for throughput, reliability, and OEE.
