Job summary

Muon Space in San Jose, CA seeks a Senior Electrical Test Engineer to own the test infrastructure for avionics hardware. You will lead automated rack design, validation strategies, and collaboration with reliability and hardware teams to prevent failures at launch.

This onsite role requires hands-on development, mentoring, and establishing testing standards across the electrical engineering group.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in hardware test engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuits, and test equipment.
• Familiar with schematic capture and PCB layout software.
• Understanding of microcontrollers and common interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet).
• Experience with embedded systems and Linux development.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware and software to create automated test racks for avionics modules (PCBs).
• Define validation strategy, test plans/methodologies for spacecraft avionics.
• Partner with design engineers to implement DFT/DFM requirements.
• Write and maintain Python scripts for the test framework.
• Create rack self-test methods and preventive maintenance workflows.
• Mentor junior test engineers and lead technical design reviews.
