Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to join our avionics test team. You will build and maintain test racks, lead hardware integration, and validate RF and avionics performance on integrated spacecraft test environments.

This hands-on role requires collaboration across electrical, mechanical, RF, and systems engineers, plus mentoring junior engineers and documenting verification activities; experience with lab instrumentation and ITAR considerations is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field
• 5+ years of aerospace hardware or electronics testing
• Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and hardware bring-up
• Familiarity with avionics hardware and embedded communication protocols: UART, SPI, CAN, I2C
• Experience troubleshooting integrated electrical systems and test setups
• Strong understanding of hardware integration and validation workflows
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Green Card) in accordance with ITAR requirements

Responsibilities

• Own the build, configuration, and maintenance of test racks
• Lead hardware integration activities and interface validation
• Troubleshoot flight hardware and test setups with lab instruments
• Support Flatsat operation and maintenance
• Execute functional checks, environmental screening, and system validation
• Support EMI/EMC, vibration, and thermal qualification campaigns
• Perform RF and avionics validation testing for antennas and transceivers
• Mentor junior engineers on test practices
