Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Technician to join a critical power distribution team serving Queenstown and surrounding areas. This hands-on role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems for residential, commercial, and industrial customers, with emphasis on safety and reliability in the power grid.

The successful candidate will have a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) and at least 5 years' experience, strong knowledge

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Electrical Technician in power distribution or related field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, power systems and safety protocols (OH&S).
• Proficient with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work independently and in challenging field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair high-voltage equipment including transformers, switchgear and protection devices.
• Perform routine inspections and diagnostic testing of power distribution lines and substations.
• Respond to outages and emergencies, identifying faults and restoring service promptly.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure work complies with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Mentor and guide junior electrical technicians on the team.

Key Responsibilities
