Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (Con Edison) seeks a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to support design, operation, maintenance, testing and analysis of electric systems in power generation facilities.

The role covers sizing and protection for transformers up to 120,000 kVA, generators up to 230,000 kVA, and related equipment, with lifecycle management and compliance with standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering with 6–8+ years in design, analysis and modification of industrial systems.
• Experience with transformers up to 120,000 kVA and generators up to 230,000 kVA.
• Ability to review System Descriptions, P&IDs and design basis docs.
• Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform System Condition Assessments to identify deficiencies and drive corrective actions.
• Establish and maintain effective communication among internal and external teams.
• Review System Descriptions, P&IDs and other design basis documentation.
• Perform root cause analysis of failures and outages.
• Provide engineering support to Steam Generating Stations.
• Participate in outages and construction processes.
• Generate acceptance test plans and oversee testing/commissioning.
• Interface with equipment/service providers and track activities.
• Produce detailed reports to support capital planning and management decisions.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.
