Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead design, maintenance, and reliability improvements for the steam distribution system. You will oversee valves, traps, pumps, sensors and related equipment, and manage projects related to steam equipment design.

This role involves coordinating with vendors, reviewing design packages, approving prototypes, and preparing training and specifications for new equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and NY State P.E. eligibility, or Master’s Degree with a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 6+ years’ engineering experience.
• Experience applying engineering principles to steam systems design and operation.
• Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, review and update steam distribution equipment specifications (Purchase & Test, Operation & Maintenance).
• Inspect and resolve equipment field issues impacting safe, reliable steam operation.
• Support steam operations with field and lab analyses related to equipment failures and performance.
