Job summary

Arc is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to own the design, build, and integration of electrical systems on our commercial vessels. You will develop topologies, I/O maps, and wiring definitions while collaborating with software teams to ensure seamless hardware–software integration.

You will lead hardware studies, assess components, and supervise testing through bench, HIL, and field environments, with occasional travel to partner yards and operators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in electrical systems integration, hardware development, or system engineering.
• Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems, power distribution, sensors and actuators.
• Familiarity with automotive/industrial protocols (CAN/J1939, Modbus, Profinet, EtherCAT).
• Hands-on debugging HV/LV systems and interfaces using meters and scopes.
• Experience writing system requirements, I/O maps, interface definitions, and docs.
• Strong written and verbal communication with software teams.

Responsibilities

• Own design and integration of high/low voltage electrical systems for commercial vessels.
• Develop and maintain electrical topologies, I/O maps, wiring definitions.
• Write functional specs and ensure hardware–software integration with control software team.
• Lead hardware trade studies, component selection, and supplier evaluation.
• Hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and debugging HV/LV systems in bench, HIL, and field.
• Support sea trials to validate systems and parity with bench tests.
• Interface with suppliers, shipyards, and vessel operators; travel 10–15%.
