Job summary

Ainsley Search Group in Aston, PA seeks a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to design and integrate electrical control systems for complex electromechanical equipment used in aerospace and defense applications.

You will lead PLC, HMI, and SCADA development, work with electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure robust integration and system modernization from prototype through production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, controls engineering, or electrical systems development.
• Experience designing electrical control systems for industrial machinery or electromechanical equipment.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution, motor controls, control panel design, and industrial communication systems.
• Experience integrating electrical hardware and software into complete systems.
• Ability to develop electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Experience with system testing, troubleshooting, validation, and commissioning.
• Familiarity with hydraulic control systems and industrial automation applications.
• Experience with aerospace/defense, industrial equipment, or OEM manufacturing preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for new and existing products, including power distribution, motor controls, and industrial automation equipment.
• Develop and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to support equipment functionality, monitoring, and control.
• Design electrical schematics, control panels, wiring diagrams, and related engineering documentation.
• Support the development of electrical system architectures, including hardware, software, communication networks, and system interfaces.
• Lead electrical integration activities for new product development projects, including prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and validation.
• Develop and maintain engineering specifications, system requirements, and technical documentation.
• Work with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to ensure proper integration of electrical and control systems.
• Support upgrades and modernization of existing electrical equipment, particularly hydraulic control and SCADA-based systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical, software, and control system issues during development, testing, and production.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to transition new designs into production.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to improvements in electrical engineering standards and development processes.
