Job summary

Popli Design Group seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead building electrical design projects in Syracuse, NY. You will create plans with AutoCAD/REVIT, simulate lighting and power, design power distribution, coordinate schedules, review work, and prepare proposals and budgets.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET program, 10+ years in building electrical design, and NYS PE registration. Travel to project sites and other offices is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited program.
• Registration as NYS Professional Engineer (PE) required or eligible.
• Minimum ten years of experience in building electrical design.
• Ability to travel between offices and sites in NY.

Responsibilities

• Create plans using AutoCAD and/or REVIT with general review.
• Simulate lighting and power flow using software packages.
• Design large sections of building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, data and other special systems.
• Coordinate schedules and review work of Technicians and Engineers.
• Edit specifications from standard libraries and provide QC reviews.
• Interact with clients and assist with contracts, presentations, and meetings.
• Develop proposals and prepare scope, budgets, and schedules for design projects.
• Coordinate complete electrical and control design with team members.
