Job summary

Popli Design Group in New York seeks a Junior Engineer to join our electrical design team. You will work under supervision, collect data, perform standard analyses, and create building electrical plans using AutoCAD and REVIT.

The ideal candidate holds a BS/BE in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, 0–3 years experience, and a basic to advanced understanding of circuit theory, power distribution, and network systems. Travel to PDG offices and project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited program.
• 0-3 years of experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Guided by and provides support to more experienced Engineers.
• Collects data and gathers information for documents.
• Performs standard analysis.
• Creation of plans using AutoCAD and/or REVIT under close supervision.
• Design of sections of building electrical systems, for both new and renovated building including power and lighting.
• Basic to advanced working knowledge of electrical circuit theory and design.
• Basic understanding of power distribution.
• Basic understanding of computer network systems and associated communications infrastructures.
• Basic understanding of signals/controls.
• Knowledge of CAD software principles with some academic experience in a CAD software package.
• Technical Report Writing Ability with fluency using the English Language
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
