Job summary

Popli Design Group seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in New York to lead design of building electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm and data/controls for new and renovated buildings.

The role requires ABET-accredited EE degree, NYS PE licensure, and a minimum of ten years of experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD/REVIT, NEC/NYS codes, and project coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Registration as a NYS Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR are required.
• Minimum of ten years of experience designing building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm and special systems.

Responsibilities

• Create plans using AutoCAD and/or REVIT with general review.
• Simulate lighting and power flow.
• Design large sections of building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm and data/controls systems.
• Coordinate schedules and supervise Technicians, Junior Engineers and Engineers.
• Edit specifications from standard libraries and perform QC reviews.
• Interact with clients and assist with contract discussions and presentations.
• Develop proposals for future work and prepare scopes and budgets.
