Job summary

Holland America Line in Seattle seeks an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee the safe, reliable operation of electrical systems across assigned vessels, interfacing with shore teams and vendors. You will lead technical planning for dry docks, manage budgets, review scopes, and ensure compliance with international standards.

The role requires travel and strong leadership within a complex maritime environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent maritime qualification.
• Valid certification or license supporting electrical competency at sea.
• Knowledge of IEC norms and maritime regulatory standards.
• Certification or training in high-voltage systems and safety protocols.
• Experience with AMOS or similar planned maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support to shipboard engineers and act as shore-side escalation point.
• Support planning and execution of electrical work during dry docks and in-service periods.
• Review quotations, cost estimates and technical scopes for vessel projects.
• Coordinate vendors, riding teams, and shipboard stakeholders for timely execution.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, classification and internal safety requirements.
