Job summary

R&P Technologies seeks an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead our electrical teams aboard US Navy ships in San Diego, CA. This full-time role emphasizes safety, schedule adherence, and quality, with training and guidance to all electrical operations personnel.

You will ensure compliance with ship specifications, manage resources, and coordinate with project management and QA teams while supporting proposals for future work.

Qualifications

  • Experience in shipboard electrical industry and leadership roles on Navy projects.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office, MS Project, and Adobe Acrobat DC.
  • OSHA 10 Training completed.
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items and ABS standards.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance preferred.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and translate detailed customer requirements, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of Navy ship design, production, and maintenance concepts.
  • Experience with marine electrical systems installations, maintenance, and repair.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is desirable.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, estimate, schedule, staff, organize, direct, and control complex industrial operations to meet customer and company requirements with high quality.
  • Plan, manage, and report on day-to-day industrial operations.
  • Provide training and supervision to electrical personnel on ships and in offices, shops, and warehouses.
  • Ensure electrical labor force is trained, uses proper tools, and adheres to safety, efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Lead technically and coordinate with Project Management to align electrical work with production schedules.
  • Track personnel location and assignments, and communicate progress and resource constraints.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance on product quality, inspections, and testing.
  • Support estimating and proposal efforts for new projects and follow-ons.
