Job summary

Seattle City Light seeks a Senior Electrical Service Representative to work from one of its service centers. You will provide technical assistance to commercial customers on City Light policies, requirements, and rates, handling installations, inspections, and problem resolutions with strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in public relations and residential/commercial advisory work in the electrical power service field.
• One year equivalent to City of Seattle ESR; two years of college coursework may substitute for a maximum of one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiate electrical service installation orders and contract applications for new or modified electrical services; calculate cost for service connection and determine utilization rates.
• Review commercial customer electrical service plans to ensure plans are consistent with power availability and regulatory requirements; prepare written responses to customers.
• Interpret codes and requirements relating to electrical service installations; advise on service size, equipment configuration, and route of service.
• Conduct on-site inspections of new and modified electrical service to ensure safety and compliance; maintain project notes and follow up before connection.
• Receive, investigate, and respond to electric service problems and inquiries and coordinate resolutions with staff.
