Job summary

Qualus is seeking an experienced designer for a role focused on protection and control systems for electric utilities. The position is based in Cincinnati, OH, working with project teams to deliver drawings, schematics, and design packages using CAD tools.

Ideal candidates will have an AS degree or equivalent tech training, at least 5 years of design experience in electrical systems, and strong AutoCAD and communication skills.

Qualifications

• AS degree or 2 years post-high school specialized trade training.
• Experience with electricity, preferably in utilities.
• Minimum 5 years design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams supporting quality and project management goals.
• Assist and support scope and project proposals.
• Meet all project deadlines and support processes to meet deadlines.
• Mentor and train less experienced colleagues.
• Build and maintain effective client relationships.
• Develop drawings and assist in design package preparation using CAD. Draft functional, logic, AC/DC diagrams and control house plan views.
• Prepare support documentation for construction and maintenance of protection and control systems.
• Follow CAD drafting standards and identify process improvements.
